HACKERS TROJAN DEFENCE Defense lawyers introduces "computer did it" defense to acquit suspected
hackers. A jury declared suspected hacker Aaron Caffrey not guilty under the
Computer Misuse Act on the defense that someone may have planted a Trojan
remotely into his computer that did the hacking, and that could have been
programmed to self-destruct.
Senator's website used unlicensed software Senator Orrin Hatch, who this week noted he supports technology that would
destroy the PC's of those who download illegal content, apparently ran an
unlicensed, and therefore illegal, JavaScript menu system on his own website.
According to Wired News, the senator's site uses a JavaScript menu system
developed by Milonic Solutions, a software company in the UK, who say Hatch was
using an illegitimate installation of their product. "It's an unlicensed copy,"
said Andy Woolley, who runs Milonic. "It's very unfortunate for him because of

Internet privacy and hacking focus of Congress Privacy on the Internet is the focus of a new Senate bill and an upcoming
House joint hearing. In both cases, the concern is with the vulnerability of
personally identifiable information and the increasing ease that such
information can be obtained by hackers and others with ill intent.
